In a world built on silence, solidarity is our loudest weapon.
Last Banner exists to preserve the stories others would let fade, whether they are tales of revolution, rebel cities, oppressed nations, or brave new worlds. We believe words are weapons, and the last banner is always worth raising.

A Time of Great Activism, A Time to Organise.
This is an age of renewed marches, bold protests, and single-issue campaigns. And yet, while people take to the streets for just causes, the backbone of lasting change is being forgotten:
our trade unions.Since 1991, trade union membership in the UK has fallen sharply. Today, only 22.5% of workers are in a union, fewer than one in four. In the private sector, it’s closer to 12%.
Over those same decades, workers’ rights, protections, and wages have been slowly stripped away.
This is no coincidence. As union strength has declined, inequality has deepened, conditions have worsened, and voices have gone unheard. But unions are not relics of the past.
They are how we build the future.Unions are about more than pay.
They are about dignity at work, protection from exploitation, solidarity between generations and industries, and the power of working people to shape society.Imagine what 10 million union members could achieve.
Or 15 million. Or a union in every workplace.
The pressure. The unity. The change.Because if you care about:
🌍 Palestine
🌱 The environment
⚖️ Equal rights
🌈 LGBT+ liberation
👷 Safe working conditions
📚 A better future for your children
…then you care about the same things unions fight for every single day.Across the world, countries with the highest union membership, like Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden, also rank highest in quality of life, happiness, work-life balance, and average wages.
This is no accident either.
A strong labour movement leads to a strong, fair society. If you’re not in a union, join one.
If you are, get involved.
Step up. Speak out. Take part. And if you’ve already taken that step, if you’re a union member today or you’ve just joined, then go further.
Engage with your local Trades Council.
These once-vibrant centres of grassroots unionism have suffered a massive decline, but they still matter.
They unite unions across sectors, bring local campaigns to life, and give working people real power in their communities.
We need them back.Change begins when we organise.
The Last Banner is a call to arms.
Not just for one issue, but for a better world. Will you stand under it?
